What Is Gum Disease?
Gum disease is caused by bacteria that build up on the teeth and along the gumline. This bacteria forms plaque, a sticky film that can harden into tartar if not removed. Over time, this leads to swollen, bleeding gums, gum recession, and even tooth loss.
